Thiruvilliputtur (Sri Villiputhoor) - Andal Idols
There are a total of five sculpted idols of Andal in Srivilliputhur. #Soodikoduthar( சூடிக்கொடுத்தார்) : The idol located in the sanctum sanctorum is known as 'Soodikoduthar'. It is made of stucco, a material referred to as 'Padachasanam'. #Thirumallivalanadi( திருமல்லிவளநாடி) : The name 'Thirumallivalanadi' is given to this silver idol, which is the 'Kauthuka Beram'(Idol used for daily worship). Note that, Thirumallinadu is an epithet for Srivilliputhur. Puduvaiyandal( புதுவையாண்டாள்) : This idol, made of copper, serves as the *Snana* or *Snapana Berar* (the deity for ritual bathing).
