Thiruvilliputtur (Sri Villiputhoor) - Andal Idols
There are a total of five sculpted idols of Andal in Srivilliputhur.
#Soodikoduthar(சூடிக்கொடுத்தார்):
The idol located in the sanctum sanctorum is known as 'Soodikoduthar'. It is made of stucco, a material referred to as 'Padachasanam'. #Thirumallivalanadi(திருமல்லிவளநாடி):
The name 'Thirumallivalanadi' is given to this silver idol, which is the 'Kauthuka Beram'(Idol used for daily worship). Note that, Thirumallinadu is an epithet for Srivilliputhur.
Puduvaiyandal(புதுவையாண்டாள்):
This idol, made of copper, serves as the *Snana* or *Snapana Berar* (the deity for ritual bathing). It is known as 'Puduvaiyandal'. #Veethi-Kandarulvar(வீதிகண்டருள்வார்):
This is the *Utsava Berar* (processional deity) brought out during festival times; it is referred to as 'Thiruppavai Padinar' (The One Who Sang the *Thiruppavai*). #Veyar-Payantha-Vilakku(வேயர்பயந்தவிளக்கு:
The *Nithyotsavar* (deity for daily processions) who circumambulates the temple precincts for the daily *Bali* (ritual offering/worship) is known as 'Veyar-Payantha-Vilakku'.
